Starting in 2026, CBD College is implementing a remote proctoring system for Weekly Quizzes and Exams.
LockDown Browser + Webcam Requirement
To attempt these tests, you will need to use Respondus Lockdown Browser as well as a webcam and microphone. Your attempt will be recorded with audio/video and a screen recording.
If you have already downloaded Respondus Lockdown Browser, you do not need to download anything else.
Guidelines
When taking an online test using Respondus Monitor, follow these guidelines:
- Select a location where you are comfortable having a video recording taken of yourself and your workspace environment. This area should be free of distractions and interruptions. You should be in a quiet environment with no other people or background noise like TV or music.
- Turn off all other devices (e.g. tablets, phones, second computers) and place them outside of your reach
- Clear your desk or workspace of all external materials not permitted - books, papers, other devices.
- Remain at your computer and in the frame of the video for the duration of the test. Your entire face and shoulders must be visible throughout the test.
- If the computer, Wi-Fi, or location is different than what was used previously with the "Webcam Check" and "System & Network Check" in LockDown Browser, run the checks again prior to the exam
- To produce a good webcam video, do the following:
- Avoid wearing baseball caps or hats with brims or anything that covers your face.
- Ensure your computer or device is on a firm surface (a desk or table). Do NOT have the computer on your lap, a bed, or other surface where the device (or you) are likely to move
- If using a built-in webcam, avoid readjusting the tilt of the screen after the webcam setup is complete
- Take the exam in a well-lit room, but avoid backlighting (such as sitting with your back to a window)
- Ensure your full face stays in the frame of the video. If your face is not detected, you will receive a warning. This warning is part of the recording; do not ignore it.
Remember that LockDown Browser will prevent you from accessing other websites or applications.
Note: If you experience a technical issue during a test that uses Monitor, please Exit the Respondus Browser, return to your original browser, and re-enter the Exam. If you are still experiencing technical issues, use the HELP button in Moodle to provide a detailed description of your problem.
