To take Exams at CBD College, you must use an application called Respondus Lockdwon Browser. This browser ensures testing security and integrity. Respondus must be used only in Exams - not Weekly Quizzes or any other coursework.
Before you Begin
1. Make sure your Operating System is Supported. If you're not sure how to find this information, read these instructions: https://mashable.com/article/how-to-find-operating-system
- Windows 11. Note: Windows Home, SE or "S Mode" cannot be used.
- Mac: Mac OS 13 (Ventura) or newer
- iOS: iOS 16 or newer
- Chromebook: Not Supported
- Android: Not Supported
2. If you are using dual monitors, unplug the secondary monitor each time before you launch Respondus.
3. Be sure you know where to locate downloaded files on your computer. You will not be prompted to choose a download location; the installation package will be stored in your computer's default downloads folder.
4. Be sure you know your Moodle login and password before you begin. Respondus does not store passwords or autofill them from another browser.
Download and Install
1. Begin in Firefox or Chrome
2. Click this link to download Respondus and install the application. Follow the prompts carefully for instructions; DO NOT OPEN RESPONDUS AFTER INSTALLATION.
3. Return to Firefox or Chrome. Click to open the Exam that requires Respondus.
4 Click "Launch Lockdown Browser."
5. If you receive a pop-up error message after you launch Repondus, read the message carefully. It tells you what to do. You may need to close other applications or change your computer's settings before launching Respondus.
If you experience any technical issues during installation or while using Respondus, go to Repondus Support. You can search for a training video, or self-help article, or click "Submit a Ticket" for assistance.
