Quick Lesson Plan
Purpose: To teach the student how to accurately take a blood pressure.
(The purpose is always what you as the instructor are going to teach)
Outcomes: The student will need to be able to state/demonstrate the steps to
accurately take a blood pressure.
(The outcomes are always matched to the purpose. Be sure not to have too many
outcomes per lesson or the student may become overwhelmed-short and simple is
best).
Prior Knowledge: The student will come to the lecture with no prior knowledge (if
this is true) or the student will come to the lecture having a background in the
cardiovascular system (if this is true).
(By asking yourself this it will help you as the instructor assess if there is anything
else you need to cover before you expect your students to fully grasp this lesson)
Plan: How do you plan on conveying your purpose to ultimately have your students
master the outcome? Example: I plan on actively demonstrating the steps to the
students via cam.
(This is to be accomplished through planning an engaging activity such as (see link
to activities)
Evidence/Assessment: How do you plan on ensuring that the outcomes are met? What assessment method will you use? Ex: I plan to have students pair up in teams or
groups within zoom rooms to demonstrate to one another and then they give one
another feedback.
(Usually the assessment can be done via the engaging activities. Note: It is not
always a formal assessment such as a quiz or test)
